Frequently Asked Questions

How do I determine what size storage unit I need?

Our convenient “Sizing up Your Storage Needs” chart will help you visualize what size unit will best accommodate the items you are planning to store.  We have sizes ranging from 5’x5’ to 10’x30’.  Your size needs may vary greatly depending upon the size of your belongings, how high you are planning to stack your boxes, etc.  It is helpful to inspect the space and plan ahead how you will fill it.  Our staff can assist you in deciding what size you need.

What is the best way to store my possessions?

Please refer to our “Helpful Storage Tips”.  We recommend using heavy-duty boxes, filled to capacity and clearly labeled.  Heavy items should be stored in small boxes so they can be easily moved about.  Good quality plastic containers are useful for long-term storage.  Efficient use of vertical space can greatly increase your storage capacity.  Sturdy metal storage shelving is available, pre-assembled, for rent through our office.

Are there any specials or discounts available to me?

Yes!  Although our pricing is always competitive, we do frequently offer specials and you will receive a discount for quarterly, semi-annual or annual payment.  Specials vary throughout the year.  Please ask.

What are my payment options?

We accept all standard forms of payment:  cash, check, debit or credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover).  We can automatically charge your debit or credit card monthly with your pre-authorization, or you can pay online @  www.ministoragepayments.com.  We mail monthly statements at your request.

Am I leasing or renting a space?

Your contract is month-to-month.  The minimum rental period is one month.  After that, you can move out any time you need to.

Do you charge any deposits or fees?

There are no deposit fees on our units, however, we charge a nominal one-time administration fee.  We do require a small deposit for using our storage shelving.

Can I use my own lock?

We require the use of a disc-type lock because it is the most tamper-proof type available at this time.  We sell them in our office, or you may bring your own as long as it is a disc-type lock.

Are all units drive-up accessible?

All of our units are ground-level and in the vast majority you can drive right up to your door and load or unload your possessions.  There are also hallway units, accessible through a common hallway with a door that opens onto the driveways.  Some people prefer direct drive-up units for their convenience and others prefer hallway units because they can be a little more dust-free and protected from weather.  All of our units are individually alarmed and computer monitored, so your items are equally safeguarded in either type of unit.

Can anybody drive into this facility?

No!  We are equipped with an electronic gate system controlled by individual computer code.  The only way to access the facility is by using your unique code number, which also monitors your individual unit door.  Likewise, you must code out in order to open the exit gate.

What other safety features are in place?

In addition to electronic gate and door alarms, we have extensive video cameras throughout the facility recording 24 hours a day.  Our managers reside on site and can access the video and gate activity at any time.  Throughout the business day, our staff regularly performs lock checks to make certain that units are properly locked.  Video monitors inside the office constantly display the camera activity.

Can my large moving van get in and out of your facility?

Yes!  Our extra-wide drives are designed with sufficient turning radius to accommodate moving vans.  You won’t find this at many facilities.

Do you sell packing materials?

Yes, we sell many sizes of boxes from file size to wardrobe, newsprint for packing, bubble wrap, packing tape, etc.

Are moving carts available?

Yes.  Our dollies are available for your use free of charge.  Just ask in the office.

Do you accept deliveries?

We will accept deliveries on your behalf if you have given us your written authorization ahead of time.  Please make such arrangements through the office.

Do you have climate controlled units?

Yes, several.  Our climate controlled units are insulated and air conditioned.  We cannot guarantee a specific temperature at which the units will be kept and they are not heated.  There is an extra charge for renting a climate controlled unit.  Please discuss your specific needs with our management staff.

Why do I need insurance?

Your items in storage are not covered by the facility’s insurance.  You are responsible for insuring your own possessions.  We urge you to check with your homeowners or renters insurance policy to see if your articles stored in a self storage facility are covered.  Our on-site managers will offer you reasonably-priced self storage insurance at the time you rent a unit.
